Do not get it tested. Remove it yourself. Your chances of getting cancer from removing your ceiling are about equal to getting hit by a meteor. The cancer rate among asbestos miners is about 5% and they worked 8 hours a day for decades with asbestos.

Doubt very much that the popcorn paint contains asbestos or ever did.
Painting contractor will know.
You may be in luck.
If there is doubt,test anyway for peace of mind.
Abatements are expensive .but not as much as the medical bills
& funerals

Asbestos has been known to harm your lungs, so I would have it tested regardless of the outcome.

Yes if you do remove it and it is asbestos you can get cancer along with anyone else in your home
