Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder. It is autosomal recessive if memory serves.
Viral pneumonia is of course caused by viruses.

The asbestos fibers lodge in the lungs creating small lesions that plug the airways.
Cystic fibrosis is about the same. It’s all about the lungs being damaged and the airways plugged.
