From what I know, a single fibre of asbestos (impossible to see it’s so small) can be breathed in, and lay dormant for a number of years (usually around 10-15 years though, but this can vary).
It then triggers something within the lungs which causes cancer, which is impossible to treat.
Nobody yet knows why it takes such a large amount of time before it causes cancer, and as far as I know, it’s impossible to treat.
Unfortunately though, theres still many buildings with asbestos within them, including state schools, which the Government don’t appear to be doing anything about.
I know this isn’t very detailed, but hope it helps
Hi, basically a Cancer can grow from ANY single abnormal cell within the body. Without getting too technical or medical here a single fibre of asbestos can lay dormant for years and then grow into a tumour.

By reactive maybe they mean touching your skin won’t cause a reaction.
Asbestos is something that is breathed into the lungs and that’s where it causes cancer.
