Here in my city in California asbestos found in homes is simply covered because asbestos is toxic when it meets the oxygen we breathe. If your state is similar then re-roofing the house would be in your best interest. Just roof right over the existing shingles. Get a safety statement from the roofer and give it to your Realtor. Make sure you disclose what you&#039;ve done to the buyers. If you don&#039;t want to re-roof it yourself then get a couple of estimates and be ready to negotiate the selling price of your home to reflect cooperation in the re-roofing costs.</description>
